For sure, nowadays, gaming is not even relatively close to what it issued to be back where it all begun. We are part of a massive increase on a daily bases in the area as well as video gaming being a number one spot for our entertainment at home no matter the age. Options are endless and they vary from console games, then PC, VR also is now a trend. Of course not everything is the same so that’s why some game matter more than the others. With this post we will provide some part of  the most influential ones by now known to us. Of course, keep in mind that this is not a complete all-around list.

 

Pong (1972)

 

OG, where it all begun. The game has been developed by Atari and it was a very simple tennis game that required the players to hit a moving back and forth across the screen ball. It may sounds weird to you but back then that’s hell of a deal to achieve. It set the tone for a different entertainment as it was known and suddenly things started changing for better and better till now. 

 

 

Super Mario Bros. (1985)

 

We all know that this is one of the most iconic games ever created and existed. Without a question when it was released the game was a completed game changer. It introduced colourful graphics, fun music, charming characters. Back then it had every reason why the game inspired so many and continued for such a long time to be a constant choice of play. 

 

Doom (1993)

 

Doom was the first person shooter that revolutionised its own genre. It had the full stack - frightening monsters, fast paced action, unmatchable for its days level of design. The game had something very rare for its time and that was the 3D graphics combined with the option for multiplayer. That later on became the standard for the FPS the way we know it now. 

 

Warcraft (1994)

 

If you are looking for real-time strategy, Warcraft was the game to play in 1994. It had it all - complex strategy, resource management, and multiplayer options made it a huge success and laid the foundation for future strategy games like Starcraft and Age of Empires.

 

Half-Life (1998)

 

Firs person shooters evolved significantly after the game was released. It was revolutionary on its won by having first person shooter gameplay combined with a narrative. Ability of world building and also having a cinematic storytelling. Immersive simulators as Bioshock and Deus Ex were inspired by the franchise because of its use of scripted events, realistic physics, AI characters. 

 

Grad Theft Auto III (2001)

 

Game that created controversy, also was able to push lots of boundaries of what the idea of the content in video games has to be. Violence, explicit language, assault are just a small pat of what you are capable doing in GTA III. The game was spectacular with its own open world gameplay, unmatchable theme modes which later on inspired countless imitations. That game was the foundation of the expenditure of open world genre as we know it today. Games like Skyrim, Red Dead Redemption and also Assassin’s Creed are just a small part of the movement the game created for the future on its own.  

 

World of Warcraft (2004)

 

World of Warcraft was a game-changer for the massively multiplayer online role-playing game (MMORPG) genre. The game's massive open world, complex gameplay, and social features made it one of the most successful games of all time. World of Warcraft inspired numerous imitators and set the standard for future MMORPGs like Final Fantasy XIV and Guild Wars 2.

 

Minecraft (2011)

 

Minecraft was a game that took the gaming industry by storm, selling over 200 million copies and becoming the best-selling video game of all time. The game's simple, blocky graphics and open-world gameplay inspired creativity and experimentation, and the game's modding community has produced countless custom maps, mods, and total conversions.
